A life of resilience from Sudhir Choudhrie

At seventy-one and being the most extended living heart donation recipient, Sudhir  got a second chance at life. When he was eight, Sudhir Choudhrie was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition that made this organ skip a bit via a leaking valve. All through, luck was playing out its cards in his life. Unfortunately, his elder brother succumbed to this disease due to a late and misdiagnosis. However, these challenges did not deter Sudhir from fighting tooth and nail to succeed in life.

Under his mother’s care, Sudhir managed to attend school, where he performed exceptionally well, which saw him garner a position at the University of Delhi. No sooner than later, he graduated with a degree in economics, and he went to work temporarily at his grandfather’s estate company. It was this early foundation in business that led to him opening up his trades. Taking an interest in exports, he established the Magnum Trading Company.

Sudhir Choudhrie later moved on to work with Taj Hotels and Resort, and he as well outdid his performance there. He then realized the potential of the hospitality sector, and he went ahead and partnered with Taj Hotels to form Taj Kerala and four other magnificent local resorts. Sudhir’s entrepreneurship journey also saw him work and partner with Adidas. He was the pioneer of the Adidas brand in India through the Adidas Indian Trading manufacturing plant and more than a hundred and fifty stores across the country.

Scaling in his career and businesses, Sudhir Choudhrie was appointed as a non-executive director of Ebookers Plc, a major online travel agency. It is from here that Sudhir delved at investing big into Air Deccan during its inception. Unbelievably, his business strategy and experience were top-notch. Whatever Sudhir dived into, it became an automatic success, and five years down the line, the airline transitioned to multiple flights per day with millions of travelers. With his vast and deep experience, Sudhir has been privileged to work in various sectors and multiple capacities. Sudhir Choudhrie was born and raised in India but currently lives in the U.K with his wife Anita and their two children.
